HOW TO GET HERE
The best ways to travel
The main road within Dumfries and Galloway is the A75. Gatehouse is a 5 min drive from the A75 junction. On event day the eastern entrance to Gatehouse will be closed to traffic.
From Glasgow, Edinburgh or Newcastle, Gatehouse of Fleet is a scenic 2.5 – 3 hour drive.
From the South:
We are the first place in Scotland as you drive north, up the M6 and turn left just over the border. Follow signs for A75 and Dumfries and then Stranraer.
From the North:
Probably the fastest is via the A74 and then exit towards Dumfries on the A701. In Dumfries follow signs for A75 Stranraer.
From the East:
If you come from the Newcastle side, follow the A69 towards Carlisle / M6 Gretna Green. From Gretna Green take the A75 to Dumfries and Stranraer.
There are a number of options to get into Dumfries & Galloway by train.
Lockerbie Station:
Lockerbie is serviced by Transpennine Express trains running from Manchester and Manchester Airport (about 2 hours direct line) to Glasgow (about one hour direct line) and Edinburgh (about one hour direct line).
